Installing the iOS App
To install the iOS version of Activate Privacy, you must add it to your iPhone or iPad using the App Store on your device.
- On your iPhone or iPad, tap the icon above or open the App Store app.
- Tap the Search tab to look for Activate Privacy" or click this link HERE and then click on the app to go to the Activate Privacy app page.
- Tap or click the Get button. If you see the Open button instead of a price or Get button, you already downloaded the app.
- You will need to authorize the installation. iOS 16+ shown on an iPhone 13. Your process may require you to enter your lock code, or your thumbprint.
You won't be charged for downloading a the Activate Privacy app.
Tap "Open" or find the app icon on your home screen to open the app.
Logging Into the iOS App
To login to the app, the first thing you'll need to do is to open it up. Locate it in the app store and open it, or click the icon on your home screen
First Time Opening
If it's your first time opening the app, you will be prompted to accept the licence and terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Logging into the iOS App
Use your email address as your login and the password is your ACTIVATION KEY CODE.
Setting up the VPN
Activate Privacy's iOS app for the iPhone and iPad includes a powerful Virtual Private Network (VPN) feature that masks your true IP address and location, giving you privacy and making it appear that your device is in another country or city.
First, tap on the VPN icon on the main screen
The first time you open the VPN service, you will be prompted to add the VPN Configuration to your device. Tap "Allow". You may be prompted to enter your passcode.
Next, select the country / city you'd like your device to appear as if it is located, and tap "Activate", and your device will now be protected, and appear as if it is located in the place you selected!
Document Scanner
The document scanning tool will search the documents on your device for sensitive data like passwords and banking information, that should not be stored on your phone where it could be vulnerable to hackers.
To open the tool, tap the "Document Scanner" button on the main screen.
Next, click the cog wheel icon to change what is scanned, and click "Scan" to begin the scan.
Dark Web Scanner
Using a dark web scanner to check if your email or password is on the dark web is a proactive step towards protecting your personal information from being sold or used for malicious purposes. By scanning the dark web, you can identify whether your email or password has been compromised and take necessary measures to change your login credentials or enable two-factor authentication. This can help prevent unauthorized access to your accounts and reduce the risk of identity theft or other cybercrimes. Overall, using a dark web scanner can provide peace of mind and help you take control of your online security.
To open the Dark Web Scanner, tap the "Dark Web" icon on the main screen.
Now select if you are searching for your email or a password for possible exposure, and enter it into the empty box and tap "Scan" to begin.
When the scan is complete, you will see where your data has been exposed in various data breaches. Tapping on any of the breaches will bring up details. The example below shows the results of searching the test email bobcat@hotmail.com.
Ad Block & Tracking Blocker
The first time you open the advertising and tracking blocker, you will be prompted to allow it access. To get started, first tap on the Ad Blocker or Tracking Blocker toggle switch on the main screen.
On your phone, go into Settings, then tap Safari, and then tap Extensions and you will see the Activate Privacy app feature toggle switches turned off. Simply tap them to allow the features to be enabled.
Go back to the Activate Privacy app, where you can now toggle the Ad Blocker and Tracking blockers on and off as you wish.
